Yep, this is Sugarloaf Photography, it’s a website frontage – under my pseudonym PhotoLoaf. Photoloaf is easier to use for Twitter and is better recognized as a blog page than is Sugarloaf Photography. (I feel great loyalty to my company name – ask me how long it’s been around.) Welcome to PhotoLoaf
I am Phil Fabrizio, a freelance photographer and owner of SugarLoaf Associates LLC. For three decades I have operated in and around the Washington DC Metro area and have traveled extensively across America. Currently, I am a staff photographer for the periodical The Town Courier, in Gaithersburg MD. I created the pseudonym "PhotoLoaf" from SugarLoaf Photography as a quick way to reach the growing number of blog followers. Have fun, enjoy.
Crusty
The PAST.
Early years were of subjects standing still for my 35mm and 2 ¼ cameras. As films, chromes and cameras morphed for faster action, so did I. Life back then was anticipating the demur smile of a wide-eyed bride, or the maturation of mitzvah candidates, or the growing strength of new families. Many images that I call "slices of life" will be resurrected and my favorites displayed to show MD/DC/VA during the 80’, 90’s and 2000.

The PRESENT
Fast cameras. Faster deadlines. Fastest subjects. Today, for slice of life images the challenge is to provide quicker turnarounds and workflows that process life in a laptop, with hotspot uploads. Image capture and processing is paramount.Life, however need not always be this fast - it should be enjoyed and relished one slice at a time. So, here you will view fresh news, action sports and portraiture photography with timeless quality.

In the FUTURE
My lens turns to focus on America's small businesses and civic leaders and those events that helps the country reinvent itself. I will be blogging from cities and countrysides providing portraits of people challenged to build a better tomorrow. Lastly, close to my heart will be those fast subjects that I love the most - games that exemplify hand-eye coordination, sports that demand muscle-synapse quickness. It is my way to anticipate the FUTURE through these subjects. Like dough I rise to find those expressions – that portray Life, one slice at a time.
